Funds for Video Data Platform IRIS.TV
Video data platform IRIS.TV has raised $18m in a Series B funding round, which it will use to accelerate the growth of its platform and API tools allowing video-level data targeting for Connected TV (CTV) and online video.
Founded in 2013 by CEO Field Garthwaite and COO Richie Hyden, IRIS.TV helps media companies use machine learning and video data to build video businesses online. This includes connecting media firms' video data with third-party verification partners and the ad and marketing technology ecosystem, securely and with a focus on privacy, allowing 'every video play, in every format and device', to be relevant, brand-safe and measurable.
New funding has been led by Intel Capital, with participation from investors including WISE Ventures, Quest Venture Partners, and Mirae Asset Venture Investment. The round also included participation from individuals such as Mike Baker, CEO and founder of customer analytics firm dataxu (acquired by Roku in 2019).
Garthwaite (pictured) says the money will allow his firm to expand operations with a focus on three key areas of growth. 'First, we're looking to continue hiring world class talent and developers. Second, we will be expanding our strategic partnerships across the ecosystem to enable marketers and advertisers to utilize video-level data to achieve their business goals. Lastly, we will be investing in new APIs and features to provide the tools publishers, ad platforms, and marketers need to successfully invest in the fast-growing Connected TV space'.
