SampleChain Renamed Research Defender
In the US, data quality and anti-fraud software platform SampleChain has been renamed Research Defender.
Founded in 2018 by Lucid's former Chief of Staff Vignesh Krishnan (pictured) and headquartered in New Orleans, the company builds technology used across sampling and MR, including tools for matching respondents to relevant surveys and to prevent sample fraud and duplication. The firm neither owns nor operates its respondent panel or exchange, and it does not sell any sample or conduct research: instead focusing on the facilitation of transactions across the online research ecosystem.
According to the company, the new name better reflects its wide range of products and services supporting quality online research. 'Through a deliberative process', says Krishnan, 'we determined that our previous name was not representative of the various ways we help our clients deliver high quality results with discernable gains in conversion, efficiency and EPCs. Going forward we have a clear message as to the costs associated with sample fraud and poorly engaged respondents'.
