ContentCal Wins Funds to Launch Intelligence Platform
London-based content marketing platform ContentCal has raised $6.2m in a Series A round of investment, which it will use to develop a proprietary content intelligence platform, make new hires, open a US base and expand its UK headquarters.
Founded by Alex Packham (pictured) in 2014, ContentCal provides a platform for content ideation automation and content planning, creation, collaboration and publishing, with in-built analytics and community management features. Following its latest funding round, the firm will develop a new product, ContentCal IQ, using AI and machine learning for channel performance analysis, competitor and industry benchmarking, and campaign attribution.
New funding comes from Fuel Ventures and Guinness Asset Management, and brings the total raised to date to $14m. In addition, the investment will be used to hire more than 40 people, and open new headquarters in Austin, Texas. Packham comments: 'I'm delighted to secure follow-on funding from Fuel Ventures and new funding from Guinness Asset Management and to be working with them on the next phase of our journey. This investment puts the business in an incredible place to expand our team, invest further in product innovation and deliver on our mission to become the leading content marketing suite for SMEs globally'.
