Accenture Federal Services Buys Big Data Firm Novetta
Accenture's specialist Federal Services division (AFS) is to acquire Novetta, which applies insights and technologies to transform how defense, intelligence and law enforcement organizations use big data. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
McLean, VA-based Novetta develops machine learning, analytics and cloud engineering technology to help clients deal with massive disparate data sets. The firm is being acquired from private equity provider the Carlyle Group and has 1,300 employees.
As part of the deal, this team will join AFS' more than 10,500 employees, with the stated aim of delivering programs to change and improve how the federal government works in the digital domain. Tiffanny Gates, Novetta President and CEO, says being part of AFS will provide new growth opportunities for staff, enable expanded capabilities for clients, and allow her team to accelerate company growth.
Accenture Federal Services CEO, John Goodman, adds: 'Novetta will bring expanded capabilities, broad client relationships, and unique assets that complement our work in the national security sector and add greater scale to our digital capabilities.
