SurveyMonkey to be Renamed Momentive
DIY research software firm SurveyMonkey is being relaunched as an experience management company called Momentive. Parent company SVMK will begin operating as Momentive Global from June 15th, although the firm says its 'flagship surveys product will retain the beloved SurveyMonkey name'.
Founded in 1999 by brothers Ryan and Chris Finley, the firm now known as Momentive provides online subscription-based tools through which individuals can create surveys, collect responses and analyze survey results, along with an Enterprise version, for companies wanting to gather, compare and share business-related feedback data. Momentive's purpose-build solutions are offered across five categories: market insights, brand insights, employee experience, customer experience, and product experience.
Last year, the firm combined its customer experience (CX) solutions from its acquisition of CX management company GetFeedback and Voice of the Customer (VoC) tech provider Usabilla into one umbrella brand, known as the GetFeedback suite. In addition, the company's portfolio incudes SurveyMonkey for enterprise feedback management, and the group's brand and market insights solution, previously known as SurveyMonkey Market Research Solutions.
CEO Zander Lurie (pictured) comments: 'We changed the game twenty years ago by creating the survey software category, and we're proud of how we've scaled our offerings, our customer base, and our ambitions. Momentive leverages world-class technology in all of our solution categories, and we put people at the center in the way we design our products, serve our customers, and deliver for our community and shareholders. Lurie said in an email to users that the new name 'conjures up images of speed and agility, movement and motion'.
The parent company will operate under the ticker symbol MNTV, and SurveyMonkey will operate as Momentive from July 1st.
