Rebrand for YouGov Canadian Buy Charlton Insights
Research and analytics group YouGov has brought its recent Canadian sports research acquisition Charlton Insights under the main corporate brand.
Toronto-based Charlton was acquired in March for an undisclosed sum. The firm was launched in 1995 and uses syndicated and custom research, along with a deep dive approach to analytics, to generate insights for clients in Canada and internationally. It combines syndicated products with custom services including corporate sponsorship impact tracking, sponsorship portfolio assessment and development, and ticket package value and price testing.
YouGov's Canadian arm now offers the group's full suite of products and services to clients in the market; and the group's Canadian data has become a fully integrated part of its global connected dataset.
Charlton founder Gordon Hendren (pictured) is now YouGov's Managing Director, Canada. He comments: 'Canada is such a key strategic market for YouGov, and this move brings everything in line under one roof. Our clients are already well-versed in online research and they like that YouGov's data products and services allow them to take control of the research experience. Our approach not only gives them a single source of data and analytics, but it also optimizes client budgets at a time when many are facing a squeeze'.
YouGov has operations in the UK, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, India and Asia Pacific, and yesterday reported revenue of £169.0m for the year to July 31st, up 18% in like-for-like terms and 11% reported; and adjusted operating profit up 32% like-for-like (17% reported) to £25.5m.
