Schlesinger Buys Melbourne's Telmy
Data collection and research services company Schlesinger Group has announced the acquisition of Australian qual research platform Telmy, for an undisclosed sum.
Schlesinger's brands already include IVP Research Labs, Everyone Talks, Schlesinger Trial & Jury Consulting, and Qual, Quant and Clinical Research units. The firm has operations offices in the USA, Canada, Australia, India and Nicaragua.
Launched in 2017 by a group of Melbourne-based researchers led by Bianca Plunkett-La Serra and Peter Treloar, Telmy offers a qual self-serve platform for the recruitment of research and UX respondents in Australia. The firm says its platform 'democratizes the world of qualitative MR', simplifying and streamlining the process of recruitment and qual project management for speed and cost advantages.
Following the buy, Plunkett-La Serra and Treloar will remain with the company in Melbourne, as CEO and COO respectively, leading the team and continuing the development of their software.
CEO Steve Schlesinger says of the news: 'We quickly understood the cultural and business fit for this talented team and its technology. The addition of Telmy to our group supports our strategy to deliver new, intelligent solutions that elevate qualitative research, ensuring it remains a valued tool in connecting human answers to business questions'. For Telmy, Plunket-La Serra comments: 'Our mission is to make it simple for any business to gain market insights through real conversations. Insights should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their level of skill or experience with research. Joining Schlesinger Group at this transformational time in their journey brings value for our clients and allows us share our platform with a global audience'.
Schlesinger says other initiatives will be announced 'in the coming month' as it continues its 'strategic positioning as a technology-led data and research solutions provider'.
