Former Nielsen Exec Named New Comscore CFO
Former Nielsen exec Jon Carpenter will join Comscore at the end of next month in the role of Chief Financial Officer, based in New York. He will replace Greg Fink, who left at the end of August to 'pursue new interests'.
Comscore recently reported financial results for the quarter ended June 30th, with revenue down 1% to $87.7m, and adjusted EBITDA of $2.6m, dropping sharply from $9.2m a year earlier. At the time, the firm said the positive results of recent partnerships and agreements will show up later in the year.
Carpenter will join after serving as CFO at direct marketing company Publishers Clearing House since 2016, where he has been responsible for all financial functions including planning, forecasting, reporting, analysis and controls, as well as investments, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that, he held various senior divisional CFO roles at Nielsen, Sears Holdings, and NBC Universal, having begun his career at General Electric, where he held global roles in the US, Europe and Asia.
Commenting on the appointment, Bill Livek, CEO and Executive Vice Chair, said: 'Jon's world class background and leadership experience are major assets. His strong operational focus, strategic acumen, and experience driving both growth and profitability are exactly what we need for Comscore's next phase of growth. We are extremely excited to welcome Jon to the team.'
Earlier this year, the firm agreed to an investment deal which it will use to pay off its debt, is online at www.comscore.com .
