Ometria Raises $40m to Expand Team
In New York, customer data and marketing platform Ometria has raised $40m in a Series C round of funding, which it will use to triple the size of its Product and Engineering team.
Ometria offers a platform called Co-Marketer, which uses proprietary AI algorithms trained on more than twenty billion retail touch points, to help retailers increase customer loyalty and CRM revenue by sending personalized marketing messages. Automatically created and optimized, these are sent throughout the customer journey and via a wide range of media including e-mail, mobile, on-site, social media and direct mail.
The new funding brings the firm's total to more than $75m and was led by InfraVia Growth, with participation from existing investors Octopus Ventures, Sonae IM, Summit Action, Adjuvo, Columbia Lake Partners, and many early investors including Chairman Lance Batchelor. Guillaume Santamaria, Partner at InfraVia Capital Partners, comments: 'There are hundreds of solutions that claim to help build cross-channel experiences, but Ometria stood out to us because it actually delivers on this commitment in innovative ways. We are thrilled to invest in a company that has the leadership, the vision, and the resonance with the retail sector'.
The new funding round follows Ometria's recent appointment of former App Annie Chief Revenue Officer Paul Barnes; Chief Technology Officer Markus Plattner, who is the former CTO of Sizmek by Amazon; and Chief Marketing Officer Michelle Schroeder, formerly of Simon Data and Tinyclues. In the past twelve months, Ometria has nearly doubled its team to more than 120.
Led by CEO and founder Ivan Mazour (pictured), the firm is online at www.ometria.com .
