Comscore Promotes Pugh for CIO Role

Comscore has promoted Brian Pugh to the role of Chief Information Officer, responsible for developing new tech tools, for ensuring that data is secure, and for MRC and ISO accreditation of the firm's services.

Pugh (pictured) joined nearly 22 years ago as a Senior Analyst, and more recently served as EVP Product Technology, managing eight direct reports within an overall organization of 90 professionals and a budget of $40m. According to Comscore, Pugh has been a 'key thought leader and visionary ' for the firm's digital solutions, including enhancing traditional panel measurement with census measurement.

During his time with the company, Pugh has supported product launches, including Media Metrix Multi-Platform, Validated Campaign Essentials and the firm's Activation solutions; and he has also contributed to four patents relating to digital measurement. Both Media Metrix and Validated Campaign Essentials received MRC accreditation under Pugh's leadership; he is currently involved in the Comscore TV MRC audit that began in October; and he led efforts to secure ISO 27001 certification.

In his new role, Pugh replaces Joe Rostock, who left in January 2020 and is now CTO at healthcare IT solutions company Allscripts.
