DISQO Hires Walmart's Pavlidis as Data Science VP
In the US, consumer insights platform DISQO has appointed long-time Walmart exec Yannis Pavlidis as Vice President of Data Science and Analytics.
Los Angeles-based DISQO operates first-party panels that promise a 'complete view' of the consumer journey. Pavlidis (pictured) joins after nearly a decade at Walmart where he served as Senior Director of Data Science for Walmart eCommerce, building and leading data science teams across various divisions. He joined the retail giant in 2011, through its acquisition of social media ad targeting start-up OneRiot, where as Social and Real Time Data Scientist he was one of the early architects of a real-time search engine and social media behavioral platform.
In his new role, Pavlidis will lead DISQO's Data Science team, reporting to Drew Kutcharian, co-founder and CTO, who comments: 'Yanni's background in improving customer experience and driving results with data science will further accelerate the work we're doing to enable our clients with platform-based solutions that improve their understanding of their customers while also increasing their speed, efficiency and growth in competitive markets'.
