Comscore Buys Social Media Analyst Shareablee
Comscore has acquired social media marketing analytics and measurement company Shareablee, for an undisclosed sum.
Shareablee helps convert real-time data from social media into insights for businesses. Founded in 2013 by data scientist and entrepreneur Tania Yuki (pictured), the firm now tracks more than twenty million brands, publishers and creators in over 70 countries. Comscore partnered with the firm in its first year, to offer social media benchmarking and competitive intelligence insights.
With the takeover, Comscore plans to expand its Media Metrix and Video Metrix tools to include Shareablee's social media engagement video insights. The firms say their combined audience insights will give media companies, brands and advertisers an 'unmatched understanding' of cross-platform consumer engagement and reach. Comscore plans to retain the Shareablee team after closing, with management execs, including Yuki, former Comscore exec Greg Dale and Jonathan Lieberman all continuing in leadership roles.
Yuki comments: 'Our large-scale social measurement capabilities provide critical insight into changing content consumption and consumer behavior, particularly when it comes to shedding light on Gen Z, and fit perfectly alongside Comscore's cross-platform intelligence. Bringing the resources and measurement sophistication of Comscore to our product development capabilities will be very exciting for the whole market'.
