Cloud4Wi Acquires GeoUniq
Location-based marketing specialist Cloud4Wi has acquired France-based location technology and data provider GeoUniq.
San Francisco-based Cloud4Wi, which uses off-line customer data to reveal customer behaviour in specific locations, says the buy gives it and its clients immediate access to one of the world's most innovative location engines.
GeoUniq CEO Antonino Famulari says his firm 'wanted to join an organization with deep roots in location-based marketing' and that the combined firm 'will finally allow companies to manage physical customer journeys, something that is often theorized but hardly realized'. He adds: 'It's my belief that Cloud4Wi and GeoUniq will find joint benefit by expanding our prospects. For example, we could focus on gaining deeper traction in verticals such as retail, where we can target pure digital brands that have mobile apps and want to gain a deeper understanding of their customer's behavior in the physical world'.
