Samba TV Hires Amazon Exec as CRO
Cross-screen television insights and analytics provider Samba TV has appointed long-time Amazon exec Robert Coon as Chief Revenue Officer.
The San Francisco-based firm, which recently filed for an IPO, uses data from social media, connected devices and tens of millions of opt-in smart TV households worldwide, to help clients measure television viewing and understand its impact on consumer behavior. In addition to technology embedded in smart TVs, the firm uses a panel representative of the US population to measure TV and digital ad exposure for each household.
Coon (pictured) joins after thirteen years at Amazon, where he headed up ad sales teams and launched the company's connected TV (CTV) products. Roles included Head of Grocery Advertising Sales, Head of Hospitality Advertising and Global Head of Product Sales. Earlier, Coon held executive sales roles at InterActiveCorp, Bankrate and Disney, bringing TV and digital media products to market.
Commenting on the appointment, founder and CEO Ashwin Navin said: 'Bob has a track record of successfully launching and scaling ground-breaking technology and media products in the US and internationally. We look forward to bringing his expertise to our teams, as well as our global clients who leverage our first-party TV data to drive new innovation in the media industry around the world'.
