Howatson+Company Names First Chief Data and Tech Officer

In Australia, full-service ad agency Howatson+Company has appointed former Appscore exec Hoang Nguyen as its first Chief Data and Technology Officer.

Howatson+Company offers a full range of creative, brand, media, PR, technology and data services. The agency was launched as Howatson+White last year by former CHE Proximity Chief Creative Officer Ant White and CEO Chris Howatson, but renamed after the former left the business last August.

Nguyen (pictured) joins from digital agency Appscore, where he served as Director, Digital and Engineering. Prior to this he also worked for CHE Proximity, latterly as Executive Director of Engineering, having initially joined as National Technical Director. During his career, Nguyen has led teams and designed architectures for several enterprises, and financial and technology start-ups.

Howatson comments: 'In many agencies, data and tech are siloed as two different practices. We know great experience requires both data and technology as intertwined enablers, live and constantly talking to and responding to each other. Hoang joins us with a remit to expand our technology offering and has already made an incredible impact to our clients, especially in the areas of data privacy, security and marketing technology'.
