Consumer Insights Platform Birdie Hires Two Directors
AI-based consumer insights platform Birdie.ai has appointed former Kantar exec Cadu Chiba as Director of Consumer Insights and former Ipsos exec Andrea Hiranaka as Director of Insights Products, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Founded in 2018 by Alexandre Hadade and Patrícia Osorio, Birdie uses artificial intelligence and natural language processing to help CPG organizations analyse and understand unstructured data from millions of consumers' comments, reviews and other online conversations. In 2020, the firm raised $1.6m in a seed funding round, which it has been using for US expansion of its sales and marketing teams, and to accelerate the development of new features relating to its integration with other data sources.
Chiba joins with more than twenty years' experience, most recently gained as a director at Kantar. Earlier, he worked for sensory and consumer insight specialist MMR Research Worldwide, food conglomerate BRF, Ipsos, Unilever, BRF and BrainJuicer (now called System1 Research). Hiranaka spent the past more than eight years at Ipsos, latterly as Global Implementation Director, Social Intelligence Analytics Service Line. Earlier she was the group's Global Social Intelligence Competence Lead, and Digital Qual / Ipsos SMX Practice Lead.
