IAB Tech Lab Hires Identity & Data Protection Director
In New York, digital ad standard-setting body the IAB Tech Lab has appointed Jason Jed Raqueno as Senior Director, Privacy, Identity & Data Protection.
A part of trade association the IAB (Interactive Advertising Bureau), the non-profit Lab is tasked with producing and helping companies implement global technical standards and solutions for digital media and advertising. In February, the Lab launched the Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) Working Group, in response to the industry's need to develop alternatives to third-party cookies and other identifiers.
Raqueno (pictured) joins after leading digital and ad media privacy for Canadian retailer Loblaw Companies, where he was responsible for ensuring privacy in audience targeting and ad serving platforms, digital ad campaigns, and customized data projects with ad partners. In his new role, he will oversee emerging privacy technologies, and lead working groups alongside digital ad industry partners, to develop solutions to address privacy, identity and accountability.
He reports to CEO Anthony Katsur, who comments: 'Jason brings valuable strategic insight into connecting the dots across privacy and data protection for the ad ecosystem. Throughout his career, he's built 'agile privacy' into digital eCommerce products, led data privacy for personalized ads streams, and will help solve some of the most pressing privacy challenges facing the ad industry'.
