New MD for MetrixLab ANZ
Digital research specialist MetrixLab has appointed Ed Harrison as Managing Director of Australia and New Zealand. He replaces Vincent Blaney, who is returning to the UK in June to take up a position at the firm's London office.
A part of Tokyo-based specialist Macromill, MetrixLab helps clients with product innovation, brand engagement and the creation of customer value. Harrison joins from insights consultancy Fiftyfive5, where he served as Brand and Communications specialist. He previously spent nearly eighteen years at behavioural science business System 1 ANZ, the last five and a half of them as MD ANZ. He joined the firm, then known as BrainJuicer, in 2003, and has worked extensively on behavioural and marketing science projects.
Harrison takes over from Blaney, who opened the office in Australia three years ago, having earlier worked for the firm in London as Director - Global Solution Consulting. He previously spent more than eight years at Kantar Millward Brown, latterly as European Brand Director for Media & Digital; and earlier worked at Ipsos ASI and Ipsos MORI. With his latest move, Blaney says he is 'leaving the business in a very capable pair of hands', and adds: 'It has been an incredible experience moving to the other side of the world to bring MetrixLab to the ANZ markets'. Rob Valsler, Regional MD of MetrixLab AMEA, comments: 'Despite the COVID dynamics, Vincent took the business in Australia to the next level, positioning the insights company to be on track for a strong future'.
For the coming months, Harrison and Blaney will jointly manage the Australia business to ensure a smooth transition. Says Valsler: 'We're excited to welcome Ed to the MetrixLab team and see how we build on a hugely successful launch phase where our Australia team helped make a big impact for clients in the region. Our team and clients will benefit from Ed's broad experience in the market and deep understanding of our key focus areas'.
