Whip Media Launches Film and TV Research Platform
Los Angeles-based Whip Media Group has launched the Whip Media Exchange, a global licensing and research platform for film and TV content.
Whip Media - which was formed through the merger of TV and film tracking and insights platform TV Time and content value management platform Mediamorph - is an enterprise software platform and data provider for entertainment organizations. In 2020, the firm launched a real-time movie analytics solution called CVM Insights, offering consumer intelligence to media companies as releases are switched from cinemas to on-demand platforms.
Its new solution has been developed to predict demand across hundreds of thousands of film and TV titles, while enabling buyers and sellers to distribute and acquire content rights. The solution's proprietary Demand Score taps into Whip Media's consumer sentiment and engagement data from 21 million viewers, providing a unique score for each film and TV title and allowing customers to predict content performance in a particular territory and on a particular platform. Users will be able to compare the predicted performance of a film or TV series against hundreds of thousands of new and library titles worldwide, whether the rights are listed on the exchange or not, while gaining access to insights around audience characteristics, including age and gender, as well as similar titles.
Whip Media Exchange GM and EVP Sherry Brennan (pictured) comments: 'The Whip Media Exchange brings a comprehensive set of consumer insights and predictive analytics into the licensing decision-making process on a global scale, to accelerate deal making and drive revenue. It's the industry's first content recommendation engine for buyers and sellers created to meet the needs of a constantly changing marketplace. We bring executives new insights, consistent evaluation tools, and easy access to partners through a single platform.'
