GovExec Buys Local Gov BI Data Provider Power Almanac
In the US, information services company GovExec has acquired Power Almanac, which provides business intelligence (BI) on the housing market and insights on US local government decision-makers. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Power Almanac offers a database of contact information for local government decision-makers and comprises more than 300,000 records from 21,473 cities, counties, and townships, including 98% of local governments in the US representing a population of 1,000 or more. Its subscribers can use the firm's services to target specific individuals through title-based data. GovExec initially made an investment in Power Almanac in June 2021, with the option to increase its investment over time.
As part of the deal, Power Almanac will be integrated into GovExec's platform, to enable contractors to segment data. Ron Mester (pictured), Power Almanac's founder and CEO, comments: 'Joining forces with GovExec will not only deliver value to GovExec's clients but will also be a big benefit to Power Almanac's current subscriber base, as they can expect to see Power Almanac's database become bigger and more powerful. I couldn't be more excited about this combination.'
