CRIC Promotes for CEO Role
CRIC (The Canadian Research Insights Council) has promoted John Tabone to the role of Chief Executive Officer.
CRIC was set up in 2018, after Canada's MRIA (the Marketing Research and Intelligence Association) was formally wound down as a result of a 'shortfall' in its finances (MRIA has since re-opened). Tabone (pictured) has served as Chief Administrative Officer since August 2019, developing and launching the CRIC Accredited Agency review, the Research Verification Service, the Size of the Industry survey, and the CRIC Public Opinion Research Standards and Disclosure Requirements.
Earlier, he spent nineteen years at professional association the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and its predecessor (the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants), where he founded the insights and analytics function and led teams responsible for areas including member loyalty programs, online communities, career services, webinars and sponsorship. After this he began his own marketing consultancy, ConvergeLoyalty.
Gary Bennewies, Chair of the CRIC Board and CEO of Ipsos in Canada, comments: 'Since mid-2019 John has played an instrumental role in growing and managing CRIC, and has been an effective advocate for the industry. Due to John's tireless efforts, in just three years, CRIC has solidly established itself as the voice of the research, insights, and analytics industry in Canada and globally'.
