Merkle Names First Chief Experience Officer
In Australia, customer experience management (CXM) company Merkle has hired long-time PwC exec Simon Doukas for a newly created position, Chief Experience Officer. He will take up the role at the end of August.
Dentsu-owned Merkle specializes in the delivery of unique, personalized customer experiences across platforms and devices. The firm has recently launched a UK Experience & Commerce (E&C) practice, bringing together agencies from around the world to deliver a joined-up CX and commerce service, and tapping into Merkle's CXM offering across analytics, B2B, data and MarTech, media, and strategy and transformation.
Doukas (pictured) joins from management consultancy giant PwC, where he was a founding member of the firm's Experience Consulting practice, and founded the Product Innovation & Advisory division, supporting clients through the end-to-end product management lifecycle. Before this, he was Head of New Venture Incubation at PwC's Digital Ventures. Earlier, Doukas co-founded mobile shopping experience app Lodie, and social media agency Social Mob.
In his new role, Doukas will lead the Strategy, Design, and Commerce teams. Merkle ANZ CEO John Riccio comments: 'I am excited to have Simon join our growing team. His proven leadership in strategy, innovation and transformation sets us up to seize the opportunities emerging in the customer experience space post-pandemic. Simon has the right skills to take us to the next level as we position ourselves as leaders in this market.'
