New Funds for Enterprise Analytics Firm StarTree
In the US, real-time enterprise analytics platform StarTree has raised $47m in a Series B round of funding, which it will use to accelerate product development, expand sales and marketing, and continue to drive adoption of its platform.
Launched last year by the original creators of data store Apache Pinot, StarTree delivers real-time and actionable insights to inform decisions and drive revenue and user engagement. The firm offers secure networking, storage and access across both the control and data planes, with a multi-cloud ready solution that includes advanced capabilities to ingest, store, query and analyze data at scale.
New funding has been led by Series A investor GGV Capital, with input from existing investors Bain Capital Ventures and CRV, plus new arrival Sapphire Ventures.
StarTree says it plans to use the new funding to increase its headcount from twelve to 70 employees by the end of the year, and expand to India. Co-founder and and CEO Kishore Gopalakrishna (pictured) comments: 'We're frankly amazed and humbled by how the community has embraced Apache Pinot and StarTree. With the new technology and services, we're building on top of Apache Pinot, we're opening the door for any company to extract intelligence that enables their customers, partners and employees to take action based on the freshest data and insights'.
