Cannabis Data Firm Names Chief Knowledge Officer
Cannabis industry data and business intelligence provider New Frontier Data has promoted Amanda Reiman to the role of Chief Knowledge Officer, replacing John Kagia who has been named Director of Policy for the Office of Cannabis Management for the state of New York.
Headquartered in Washington, DC and with a presence in Europe, Latin America and Africa, New Frontier Data offers data, business intelligence and risk management solutions to inform cannabis-related policy and commercial business activity. Through the firm's online cannabis data marketplace, researchers, business owners and firms can download thousands of data sets through the company's Equio online platform.
Reiman (pictured) joined in January as VP, Public Policy and Research, working closely with Kagia to help the research team develop and deliver data and insights. She is a social ethnobotanist who has studied the relationship between people, cannabis and greater society for more than twenty years. Reiman earned her PhD from UC Berkeley and taught Substance Abuse Treatment, Drug Policy, Sexuality, and Social Work and Research Methods at the university for a decade. She also served as the Head of Research and Patient Services at Berkeley Patients Group, Manager of Marijuana Law and Policy at the Drug Policy Alliance, and VP of Community Development for Flow Cannabis Company.
In her new role, Reiman replaces Kagia, who has left after nearly eight years at the company, and previously held senior roles at ORI and Market Connections. CEO Gary Allen comments: 'Amanda is one of the few who could follow in the footsteps of John Kagia, an original employee of New Frontier Data and an esteemed industry thought leader whose appointment at this historic moment in New York's industry will continue to pay dividends for the cannabis industry for years to come.'
