Creak... Six Big MR Leaders on One Platform
*More* friendly behaviour from the leaders of the UK's research associations: the BMRA has announced that six of them will share a platform at its Conference in November, and outline their visions for the future of the industry. The six represent the MRS, BMRA, AURA, AQR, BIG and the ICG.
The 'Research Leaders' Summit' will take place on 17th November, the opening day of the two-day annual conference. The individuals concerned are Jennie Beck, MRS; Peter Jackling, BMRA; Leslie Sopp, AURA; Fiona Jack, AQR; Claire Labrum, BIG; and Stephen Bairfelt, ICG. Each will address the future of MR including new growth areas, industry body co-operation and international issues.
The second day of the two-part conference will focus on agency - client relationships and will include client side speakers from Sainsbury's Bank, Philips and Lever Fabergé UK.
Peter Hodgson, BMRA Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Conference Committee, says the program covers 'the two most topical subjects in the market research world: the future shape of our industry and the nature of the ideal relationship between agencies and clients'. In addition, just in case anyone thought the above newfound mutual respect was going too far, he suggests that 'the BMRA is the only research organisation in Britain who could have got such an innovative programme together'.
More information about the Conference, taking place at the Thistle Hotel, Brighton, is available by 'phoning the BMRA secretariat on +44 (0)20 7566 3636.
