Ipsos Sells Retail Performance Unit
Ipsos has announced the sale of its people-counting and footfall solution Retail Performance, to US-based RetailNext, in which it will take a minority stake.
Retail Performance was part of Ipsos' customers and employees service line. Forty of its employees in the UK and the Philippines will join RetailNext, which is a specialist in retail services with headquarters in San Jose, California. With the shareholding, Ipsos establishes a partnership which will co-develop solutions in the global retail and consumer trends space, and give its clients continuing access to customer counting and footfall data.
Global CEO Ben Page says the sale reflects the company's focus on its core research services, as announced in the 2022-2025 Growth plan. Alexei Agratchev (pictured), co-founder & CEO of RetailNext, comments: 'Retail Performance is a leader in the footfall-tracking space, and we're thrilled to be welcoming them into the family as we expand our mission in the UK and beyond'.
