No DRNO for 11 Days? It Must be Christmas!

That's it for another year from DRNO - our next issue will be for January 3rd 2023. Our very best wishes for a Merry Christmas to all those of you celebrating it, a Happy New Year to all readers, and a big Thank You as ever for your support and feedback in 2022.

Merry Christmas / Happy New Year!Although this has been a tough year for many, it's been good to see distinct signs of optimism returning to a lot of the companies in our sector, and we finish it with high hopes for the next 12 months. MR and insights have again shown resilience in the face both of old-style downturns and the new challenges the '20s have so far cooked up for us, and we feel like the industry is well-placed again after the uncertainty of the pandemic / the world's response to it. Most research and analytics professionals combine an increasingly technological focus with an ongoing and well-founded commitment to thoughtful and intelligent work, underpinned with awareness of the need for privacy and accountability: the opportunity for this is vast and expanding, and what we do is as valuable as ever if not more so.

At MrWeb, we continue to receive really kind feedback about the news and our other services. Most of this is in one-to-one emails and never published, but we thrive on it so please keep it coming - it makes it all worthwhile. A few high profile comments make it into our brochure for the year and while you're reading them here - www.mrweb.com/2023ads/MrWebDRNO-brochure2023USD.pdf - feel free to look at the packages and prices and think about joining our long list of advertisers :)

Our RAIDAR feature, launched yesterday, is the first of two major new services from MrWeb, with a new-style directory due in a month or so. Please take a look at RAIDAR here - www.mrweb.com/cgi-bin/raidarmk.cgi?sortChoice=rev21 - try some sorts and try hovering over some company names and figures, and give us your views.

What hopes for the world in 2023? We asked a year ago if we might all get away from talking non-stop about that virus in 2022... and indeed we have, which is excellent. Sadly part of the reason for that was the invasion of Ukraine, and we hope the redoubtable people of that country can finish the job of reclaiming their territory in 2023, and manage to find continued strength, as well as some joy and hope in amongst the rubble and rebuilding work left behind. Closer to home, it would be great to see this progress and other more mundane factors also helping to reduce energy prices and with them the cost of living in general: but on the whole we recognise that we're incredibly lucky to be where we are, to have the health and comforts we enjoy and - sorry to those who disagree - we don't consider 2022 one to forget.

One final big Thank You to our advertisers, for their support and confidence in our publication: it's always nice working with the great people of this industry, and we really appreciate your backing.

We hope all of you reading this have a relaxing next eleven days, and return full of energy for the coming year.

All the best from Mel, Ian and myself!

Nick Thomas
