Sprout Social Buys Sentiment Analyst Repustate
In the US, social media management software provider Sprout Social has acquired sentiment analysis and natural language processing business Repustate. Terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 2010, Repustate uses AI-powered semantic technology to model sentiment analysis, and offers other text analytics and enterprise search solutions. The firm's technology reads and analyzes text and video content natively, making sense of data through natural language processing (NLP), AI and machine learning.
Commenting on the deal, Sprout Social CEO and co-founder Justyn Howard (pictured) said: 'We believe the addition of Repustate's AI, domain expertise and talented team will accelerate our technology roadmap across core Sprout products, including aspect-based and industry sentiment within our social (media) listening capabilities and enhanced functionality for inbox messaging and social customer care'.
