Funds for Fan Experience and Data Firm Fanbase
In Edinburgh, Scotland, fan experience and data platform Fanbase has raised £1m in a new round of funding, which it will use to expand its operations and marketing in North America.
Set up by brothers Alasdair and Michael Crawley (pictured) in 2019, Fanbase develops software to deliver mobile ticketing and fan experience for sports clubs. Its platform enables clients to track their fan data and identify audiences for cross-selling, upselling and sponsorship opportunities. According to the company, sports club clients can use this data to obtain a 360-degree view of their fans, and fans' engagement with their clubs, and to drive marketing strategy.
New funding has been led by SaltPay, and adds to the £500k seed funding round raised in 2021. Fanbase CEO Alasdair Crawley comments: 'Our vision is for Fanbase to unlock a huge amount of revenue for sports teams by making it easy to buy and engage with sports organisations from one platform. Clubs using Fanbase can use our data layer to track fan data, identify audiences, and optimise sales. They can communicate directly with their fans from the platform via push notifications, and we're also working on unlocking more channels'.
