Danish Radio Stations Renew Kantar Contract
Danish broadcasters DR, Bauer Media, Danske Medier and Radio 4 have renewed their agreement with Kantar for the measurement of radio audiences in the country, until at least 2028.
Radio reaches 89% of Danes aged over twelve on a weekly basis, and with more than 250 stations being watermarked, the expanded service is designed to help clients unlock growth from Danish listeners across radio and podcast platforms. It now deploys portable measurement technology, including a smartwatch which features Bluetooth designed to capture listening both in and out of the home, and listening via headphones. In addition, the 'refreshed' service covers national, regional and local radio stations and will be underpinned by a 20% increase in panel size.
The partnership with the Danish broadcasters began more than forty years ago, and Henrik Hansen, Executive MD of Kantar Media Nordics & Baltics, says in that time Kantar has helped enrich clients' understanding of the Danish radio space. Dennis Christensen (pictured), Chairman of the radio measurement steering committee and Head of Audience Measurement at DR Medieforskning, comments: 'The Danish radio market is complex with a combination of local, regional and national stations, as well as stations distributed via FM, DAB+ and online. The new measurement service builds on a solid foundation and leverages new technology to ensure that the Danish radio industry has confidence in the numbers behind the listeners'.
