Data Science Platform Kern AI Raises Seed Funds
German firm Kern AI, which offers an open-source platform for data scientists, has raised EUR 2.7m in a seed round of funding.
Founded in 2020 by Johannes Hötter and Henrik Wenck, Kern AI helps companies embed natural language processing into their products and processes. The firm's data-centric suite of solutions is used by data scientists to manage internal workflows for operational or analytical purposes, including for customer-facing services, sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, and retrieval and outbound classification.
Seed funding has been co-led by Seedcamp and Faber, with participation from xdeck, another.vc, , HPI SEED, and a number of business angels. Hötter comments: 'Kern AI strives to provide users with the flexibility to create what they want and to reduce the time between an idea and its implementation. We are confident that natural language processing will continue to grow, and with Kern AI's modular platform, developers have all the resources they need to deploy use cases. This is what we excel at and what we want to demonstrate to the world'.
