Saga Creates New Corporate Director of Research Role
In the US, radio broadcast company Saga Communications has hired long-time Nielsen / Arbitron exec Mario Christino for the newly created position of Corporate Director of Research.
Saga Communications operates more than 150 radio stations, across 26 markets. Christino (pictured) joins from Nielsen, where he served as VP, Sales Director. Before this he spent six years as Account Director, Client Solutions of Nielsen Audio, formed following Nielsen's acquisition of Arbitron, where Christino had previously spent fifteen years. He also spent sixteen years at Radio One of Baltimore, latterly as General Sales Manager, and earlier as Director of Marketing and Research.
In his new role, Christino will work with all 150 owned radio stations on research needs for both sales and programming. Company President/CEO Chris Forgy comments: 'We are delighted to have Mario join the Saga team. Mario is another resource we are providing, to help our sellers grow and become even better storytellers'.
