New CEO for Shopper Personalization Platform Searchspring
In the US, eCommerce search, merchandising and personalization platform Searchspring has appointed Alex Kombos as Chief Executive. He replaces Peter Messana, who left the business in January, after nearly four years in the role.
From its offices in the US, Canada, Poland and Australia, Searchspring enables brands to get the right product, to the right person, at the right time. This is done through the firm's 'eCommerce Personalization Suite', which helps shoppers at all points of their journey - from product discovery to post-purchase communication - and delivers personalized recommendations, personalized search and merchandising, and more. In 2019, the firm was acquired by B2B SaaS fund Scaleworks, and then Searchspring acquired eCommerce search company Nextopia, and 4-Tell, the company behind AI-driven personalization platform, Smart Commerce.
Kombos (pictured) joins with more than 25 years' experience building and leading eCommerce and SaaS-based companies. He previously served as CEO of digital experience platform Pressable; before which, he led private equity portfolio company Onoxa. He also founded B2B social marketing and engagement service EventNow and global digital music eCommerce network MusicNow; and he was VP Online Acquisitions at JP Morgan Chase; and Group Media Director at Grey Interactive.
Kurien Jacob, Searchspring's Executive Chairman of the Board, comments: 'I was impressed by Alex's experience delivering value to customers. The company has achieved strong growth and the combination of Alex's passion and experience can steer Searchspring into the future.'
