dunnhumby Names New CTO
In London, customer data science specialist dunnhumby has appointed Ben Burdsall as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), leading the global engineering function which is responsible for the design, build and operation of technology solutions.
Tesco subsidiary dunnhumby operates a Customer Data Science Platform combining software and consulting to help retailers and CPGs uncover insights from shopper data, both on- and off-line, with the aim of driving customer loyalty. In February, the firm launched a tool called Revenue Growth Planner, allowing CPG brands to forecast the sales impact of changes to a product's pricing and promotional strategy.
Burdsall (pictured) joins with more than 26 years' experience of developing and managing software solutions for international companies. Most recently, he was Global CTO of sports tech company Sportradar, before which he worked for video streaming platform Worldpay as Chief Engineer and eCommerce CTO. Earlier, Burdsall held a number of roles at PwC UK, including as Director of Technology, Consulting in Financial Services, and UK Head of Enterprise Architecture; and he was one of the founding members of Accenture Tech Labs France; having begun his career at the Ministry of Defence.
In his new role, Bursdall replaces David Jack, who held the role for the past four years, and is now CTO of electric vehicle data provider Wejo.
