New Leader for Ipsos Europe
Pierre Le Mahn has been appointed Chairman and CEO of Ipsos Europe, following the decision of Jean-Michel Carlo to leave and resume his career in the communication industry.
Carlo joined Ipsos in March 2002 as CEO in charge of the company's Development in Europe and its global Marketing Research specialisation. He worked for 25 years in advertising, including spells leading Young & Rubicam and BDDP group, before becoming Chairman & CEO of the Diversified Agencies Group within Havas Advertising.
Co-Chairmen Jean-Marc Lech and Didier Truchot thanked Carlo for his contribution over two and a half years, notably 'expansion of the Ipsos brand in Europe, strengthening of our specialisations, and improvement of the region's overall profitability', and praised his 'personal availability, and his quality of judgement'.
Le Manh graduated from the French Management School ESSEC, and started his career in 1989 with Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) as a Consultant. He was appointed in 1993 as CFO of copyright specialist Adami, joined the Encyclopaedia Universalis publishing company in 1996 and became its Chairman and CEO in 1998. Most recently, he worked at Consodata, a company specialising in the management of marketing databases, for which he was Global CEO from 2002, preparing it for a recently completed disposal.
Europe accounted for over 50% of Ipsos' global revenues of 569.7 million euros in 2003. The company's web site is at www.ipsos.com
