McCann Worldgroup Hires 'Chief Audience Architect'
Ad network McCann Worldgroup is hiring Nathan Brown in the new role of Global Chief Audience Architect, responsible for building an Audience Planning Global Practice, providing an understanding of people and their behavior across devices, content and platforms.
Brown (pictured) will join at the beginning of May, from IPG sister agency Universal McCann (UM), where for the past two years he has served as Global Chief Strategy Officer. Before this he spent six years as US CEO of Omnicom media agency PHD. He began his career in his native Australia, working for several agencies in planning, strategy and new business roles before moving to the US to lead communications planning for J3, UM's dedicated unit for J&J.
In his new role, Brown will be responsible for connecting all the disciplines across McCann Worldgroup that have audience expertise, into a global community focused on audience planning. He will partner with Michelle Tang, who has been promoted to Global Chief Growth Officer, having joined from Digitas last year, and will now serve as the central point of contact for the networks' global new pitches. Tang takes over from Marcy Samet, who will move into a new role, supporting IPG with growth initiatives.
Daryl Lee, CEO of McCann Worldgroup and McCann, comments: 'Nathan knows the power of audience understanding to unlock significant growth for brands, and he will bring this fluency in audience connection to a very receptive community here at McCann Worldgroup. Nathan's empathetic style, creative sensibility, and strategic ability to discern an insight from a mere data point, will make him an invaluable accelerator of our collective creativity'.
