ONS to Launch Shopping Price Comparison Tool

In the UK, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) is launching a shopping prices comparison tool, to allow users to track average price trends of items relevant to them.

The new tool will allow users to select and track average prices from more than 450 individual goods and services in the ONS consumer prices basket. It will also show average price changes on an item-by-item basis, allowing users to create their own bespoke basket of items and tot up the total average price change across a number of categories.

Alongside this, the ONS will also publish an accompanying article summarising key trends.
