OzTAM CEO Doug Peiffer Steps Down
Australian television audience measurement body OzTAM has announced that CEO Doug Peiffer has decided to step down from his role. He will leave on 1 July and the Board says it has begun a search for a new CEO.
OzTAM is the country's official source of TV audience measurement, covering the five metropolitan markets plus subscription television nationwide. The organisation's Virtual Australia (VOZ) Total TV database recently rolled out, bringing together broadcast viewing on TV sets and connected devices, to provide all-screen, cross-platform planning and reporting for Australia's television industry.
Peiffer (pictured) is leaving after more than twelve years leading OzTAM, during which time he has directed the evolution of the TV ratings service to capture the changing ways Australians consume video - including online-delivered broadcast content (BVOD), and the new all-screen, cross-platform VOZ service. Before taking the position in 2010, Peiffer worked for Network Ten as General Manager, Client Integration Strategy and Research; before which, he was General Joint Manager, Director Media Australia at TNS; worked as VP President Media Services Latin America at ACNielsen; and MD of Media Services in Singapore.
Thanking the OzTAM team for their hard work and support, Peiffer said that with the successful launch of VOZ, and more than twelve years with the company, the time is right for him to hand over the reins to new leadership. Non-Executive Chairman, Mark Buckman, added: 'Doug has led OzTAM through a period of transformation and significant change in which both technology and Australian media consumption patterns changed dramatically. The Board and I offer Doug our thanks and appreciation for his leadership and contribution and wish him every continued success in his career.'
