Senior Appointments for Video Data Firm IRIS.TV
Video data platform IRIS.TV has promoted Rohan Castelino to CMO and appointed Jim Heinzen as Vice President of Finance and Operations. Both men will report directly to CEO and co-founder Field Garthwaite.
The company was founded in 2013 by CEO Field Garthwaite and COO Richie Hyden, and helps media clients use machine learning and video data to build video businesses online. This includes using a proprietary content identifier, the IRIS_ID, to connect their video data with third-party verification partners and relevant ad tech systems, securely and with a focus on privacy, ensuring brand safety in ad positioning. Two years ago the company raised $18m in a Series B funding round.
Castelino joined the company back in 2014 as Director of Business Development and Marketing, after working in the entertainment and hospitality sectors in Beijing, including the production and financing of international film co-productions. Earlier he worked at media companies in the US, including Gannett, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Paramount Pictures, and Illumination Entertainment.
His new role including formulating and implementing the company's marketing strategy, fostering customer acquisition and revenue growth, and strengthening the brand's reputation.
Heinzen brings more than 25 years of experience, most recently from PR and comms monitoring group Onclusive where he was VP of Finance. Earlier he worked as Senior Director of Finance at Vivino Inc., and as Director of Finance at The Nielsen Company; and before this he was Senior Director of Finance at SimpleGeo, Inc., VP of Finance at Digg Inc., and Corporate Controller at American Lithographers.
In his new position he will provide strategic counsel to the Finance department while actively collaborating cross-functionally across all departments - the latter including work to develop, launch and scale new lines of business leveraging video-level data.
Garthwaite says Castelino's contributions have allowed the firm's client and partner network to expand to thousands of publishers and dozens of partners, 'further emphasizing IRIS.TV's positioning as the undeniable frontrunner in video-level data'. He adds: 'With a wealth of experience scaling and successfully elevating early-stage businesses to maturity, we welcome seasoned finance veteran Jim as VP of Finance and Operations'.
