Wavemaker Names Three Practice Leaders
WPP's consumer data specialist Wavemaker has announced that its Consultancy, Fast Growth and B2B Practices will be led by the three of its Global Client Presidents - Anna Hickey, Alastair Bannerman and Alex Altman, respectively.
Wavemaker was set up in 2016 by WPP media agency MEC, and supports clients' consumer decision-making and experience activity through media, content and technology. Hickey has been with the company nearly six years, and previously served as MD at WPP's media agency Maxus, as well as Managing Partner, Northern Europe at MEC. In her new role she will lead Wavemaker's Global Consultancy, which supports clients in adopting transformative growth solutions across its seven connected practices: Data Strategy, Measurement and Analytics, Applied Innovation, eCommerce, Content and Brand Experiences, Addressable Solutions, and Tech Consulting.
Bannerman joined in 2020 from MediaCom, where he worked for nearly seven years and latterly served as Global Category and Client President. Earlier, he was Global Marketing Director at Eye Corp, Group Client Officer at Starcom MediaVest Group, and Business Director at ZenithOptimedia. He now leads the Fast Growth Practice, a global operation dedicated to helping scale up brands.
Altman has been with the business for six years, having previously been MD, Global Solutions at MEC, CEO of Initiative, and MD of M4C. He now leads the B2B practice, which has a global centre of excellence in London and hubs in North America and Asia Pacific, through which it focuses on growth areas including innovation, strategy and measurement at a global scale.
Global CEO Toby Jenner says of the appointments: 'Al, Anna and Alex will continue to lead their existing clients with an expanded remit. This will allow our global client leadership to be closer to the capabilities which will best serve our client demands and continue to fuel their growth requirements. They will each also be responsible for bringing our unmatched breadth and depth of expertise from GroupM and WPP to their individual practices and client needs'.
