Data City Raises Expansion Funding
In the UK, data-as-a-service industrial classification platform The Data City has raised an undisclosed six-figure round of funding. This will be used to expand its team, to support the expansion of its customer base globally, and to accelerate the global roll-out of its AI-driven data platform.
Headquartered in Leeds, The Data City offers access to 94 million companies - including firms across the USA and Europe - underpinned by CreditSafe's global financial company data. Earlier this year it launched a global real-time industrial classifications (RTICs) product, combining data from the US and the rest of the world with its AI and proprietary data, to analyse companies and industries.
New funding comes from existing backer, Yorkshire-based venture capitalist firm Venturian, and values The Data City at £10m. Paul Connell (pictured), Executive Chair of The Data City, says of the news: 'This investment is a vital stepping stone in The Data City's journey to becoming a global data as a service (DaaS) company which will be supported by a Series A funding round during 2025'.
