Crowd DNA Founder Steps Aside
In the UK, STRAT7-owned cultural insight and strategy consultancy Crowd DNA has appointed Elliot Pigram as its new Global MD. Pigram will take the reins on 1st January next year from founder and CEO Andy Crysell, who will move to the position of non-executive Chair.
Current Crowd DNA London MD Matilda Andersson will step back from the role after eight years at the firm, and will 'pursue new interests outside the industry'. Andersson played a key role in launching and building STRAT7's AI offer.
STRAT7 is headquartered in London and employs more than 400 people across twelve locations in Europe, the US and APAC, covering four key functions or 'pillars': pillars of Advisory, Insights, Data/Data Collection, and Analytics.
Pigram, who joined Crowd DNA in 2018 and worked in London before moving to Sydney to take charge of the firm's APAC offer, now returns to London.
Crysell launched Crowd DNA in 2008, growing the business to a team of 100 in seven offices around the world before its sale to STRAT7 in 2020. In addition to exploring new opportunities outside the insight industry, he will advise the new leadership team at Crowd DNA on areas including strategic direction, brand and comms, and client relationships.
Pigram comments: 'I'm thrilled to be taking on this role, and to build on the incredible reputation that Andy has forged at Crowd DNA for cultural insights and strategy. Crowd DNA is such a special place, and that's down to his vision and strategic leadership. I'm excited to continue that legacy in 2024, and beyond'. Crysell says the firm has been 'an incredible 15-year journey' and says of his replacement: 'El taking on the global managing director position points to a brilliant future for the business. El really understands what Crowd DNA is about - the big commercial stuff, but also the principles that we hold dear'.
