Co-Founder Makes Way for New COO at MediaSense
Media auditing, management and analytics firm MediaSense has appointed former Britbox International exec Matthew Gardner as COO, supporting plans for international growth. He replaces co-founder Andy Pearch, who moves to an NED role, with immediate effect.
London-based MediaSense was founded by Pearch and Graham Brown in April 2009, and received an investment rumoured to value the company at £30m, in 2021 to private equity firm Apiary Capital. The firm offers a media auditing platform called DiPA (Digital Performance Analytics), powered by a proprietary insight engine, machine learning techniques and a team of analysts and data scientists to unlock incremental value for brands. It also offers a framework analysing client organisations' internal and external media operating model (agency, data and technology), with recommendations for improved performance.
Britbox is a JV between the UK's two original broadcasters, the BBC and ITV, intended to carry British TV to global audiences: Gardner was its CFO and COO, responsible for growth strategy, international expansion and investor relations, and earlier worked in senior roles at Dentsu International, video on-demand and tech business Vubiquity, EMI Music, Ascent Media and Ticketmaster.
CEO comments: 'Matthew is a highly respected industry leader with unmatched experience in managing and growing demanding, service-based media and technology businesses. As MediaSense continues its growth and expansion strategy, Matthew's appointment will be key in the future development of the business. His global international operations ability will be an invaluable asset and I am delighted he has agreed to join MediaSense'.
