TAPE Brand Goes as Mediametrie Merges Units
French audience metrics company Médiamétrie has announced that its UK subsidiary TAPE Consultancy will be rebranded to operate as part of Glance, its international division.
The change means Glance, which was known as Eurodata TV Worldwide until October 2019, now boasts 80 audience and content experts, with ten in London and the remainder in Paris, and offers 'a one stop shop' for TV and video market intelligence, serving major and international broadcast networks, platforms, production companies, rights holders and distributors.
TAPE launched as an independent company in 1976 and has since added forecasting and predictive tools to its content advisory services. It uses curated monitoring of international content, with a deep focus on English-speaking territories, especially the US and UK. The unit which is now Glance took a 52% stake in TAP in September 2016, with TAPE's Joint MDs John Peek and Paul Youngbluth retaining the other 48%. The pair appointed recently recruited Beatrice Rossmanith (pictured below) as MD in March 2022, in advance of their leaving the company that summer. She now takes the lengthy title of Head of Global Business Glance and Managing Director of Glance London.
Glance has added a strategic advisory service to its original twin pillars of audience performance and content scouting; and operates across the world, covering linear TV and digital platforms (SVOD & AVOD/FAST) across 'all' genres including sports and kids. SVP Frédéric Vaulpré (pictured top) comments: 'The convergence of the teams represents a continuity in the services we provide to our clients with the added value of synergy and clarification. Especially regarding English speaking content monitoring and analysis and in terms of global content evaluation. In a more complex world, the industry needs a reliable research company which can give advice on a 360 degree basis with ratings delivery, audience analysis and content drivers. This is the aim of the new Glance'.
Médiamétrie offers video, audio and cross-media behaviour measurement, as well as advertising effectiveness measurement. The firm has around 800 staff and in 2022 turned over around EUR 104.2m.
