Dedicated Privacy Officer for Publisher Gannett

Publisher Gannett / USA TODAY Network has appointed a dedicated Chief Data Privacy Officer, Marci Moss, with a remit to safeguard the information entrusted to its publications by clients, partners, users and employees.

In addition to the USA Today Network, Gannett's portfolio includes hundreds of local US publications, and in the UK local media group Newsquest.

Atlanta, GA-based Moss brings more than seventeen years of experience developing and managing strategic and comprehensive privacy programs, including regulatory compliance, innovation and modernization. She is a certified International Privacy Professional-US (CIPP-US) and Government (CIPP-G), and has driven privacy programs for companies including GORE Inc. and Deloitte LLP. She holds a BA in International Studies from West Virginia University and an MA in Political Science, Specialization: International Relations from Georgia State University.

In her new role Moss will establish and enforce policies and practices for collection, storage, use, distribution and disposal of customer and employee data.
