IDC Appoints Energy Analyst
Technology specialist IDC has appointed Rick Nicholson as VP of Energy Insights, its newly launched subsidiary, which provides market intelligence and analysis to execs in the energy and utility sector.
Nicholson has more than 20 years' experience in energy and IT, most recently as VP, Energy Information Strategies at META Group, where he co-founded the energy industry research and advisory offering. He has also worked in sales, marketing and delivery functions at consulting, software and hardware vendors.
Nicholson has been a contributing writer to a variety of publications including Platt's Energy Business and Technology, Fortnightly's Energy Customer Management and Pennwell's Utility Automation. He has also been a regular speaker at industry conferences such as GITA and Distributech.
