Ainsworth Steps Down from Kantar Media Lead Role

Kantar Media has appointed Lucy Bristowe as CEO, UK & Western Europe, succeeding Louise Ainsworth who is stepping down after six years in the role.

Lucy BristoweBristowe, who starts next month and reports to Global CEO Patrick Béhar, brings experience from insight and research team leadership roles at UK broadcasters Channel 4 and Sky Media. She played a key role in the development of the UK's unified TV advertising metric CFlight, which reports live, time-shifted and on-demand commercial impacts and impressions across viewing platforms and is now managed by ratings body Barb.

Bristowe has served as a board member and active collaborator on TV Joint Industry Committees (JICs) Barb and TAM Ireland. In her new role she will work closely with JICs as well as with buyers and sellers of content and advertising, overseeing the ongoing development of the firm's cross-platform and cross-media industry services in countries including the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Israel.

Béhar comments: 'I am delighted that Lucy is to join us. I know from my own experience that her infectious passion and sharp strategic outlook on the future of measurement will strengthen our industry leadership position and cement our deep partnership with clients, fulfilling their long-term strategies as we expand our services across platforms and media'.

Ainsworth worked at Ogilvy One, BBC Education and Bain & Co before serving as the MD of the European business of NetRatings, later Nielsen Online. She moved to the role of CEO of ad industry publisher Warc in 2012, before joining what was then Millward Brown as UK CEO in 2016. She moved to the Kantar Media EMEA Chief Exec role in 2018. DRNO is not currently aware of her planned next steps. Béhar states: 'I would like to also express my sincere thanks to Louise for her leadership and commitment over the past six years. She has been a positive force to clients and colleagues. We will all miss her greatly and wish her the very best for the future'.
