System1 Launches Innovation Success Forecasting Tool
System1, specialist in measuring and forecasting the effectiveness of ad creative, has launched a new solution called Test Your Innovation, which measures consumers' emotional responses to predict the commercial success of new products, services and branding.
The solution uses a validated star rating scale from 1.0 to 5.9 to provide a simple measure of in-market potential, of which there are three components: emotional response to ideas ('Emotional Pull'), Share Trading indicators and Decision Speed.
Emotional Pull is measured by System1's FaceTrace tool and gauges the potential of concepts to resonate with consumers. The Share Trading metric predicts market success by assessing whether respondents would 'Probably Buy' or sell shares in each idea. Decision Speed measures how easy an idea is to understand and the likelihood of being chosen. Fast ideas receive positive weighting, while slower ideas are penalized, offering a nuanced understanding of consumer engagement.
In addition to the types and intensity of emotional response, Test Your Innovation analyses the reasons behind these feelings; suggestions for improvement; price sensitivity; and implicit brand attributes. Users can then benchmark performance across a 'vast' database of more than 54,000 ideas and test either with specific target audiences or a nationally representative sample.
Chief Customer Officer Jon Evans (pictured) comments: 'Emotion is the key to unlocking whether an idea has commercial potential because purchasing decisions are largely driven by how we feel. It's why we designed Test Your Innovation to deliver emotional response insights to brands. The platform not only predicts the success of ideas, but helps organisations further improve their concepts before launching so they can grow profits and market share'.
System1 was founded in 2000 as BrainJuicer by current President John Kearon, and has operations in Europe, North America, Brazil, Singapore and Australia.
