Futurum Brings In CIO Community Leader
In Austin, Texas, tech research and media firm The Futurum Group has appointed Dion Hinchcliffe as VP and Practice Lead, CIO, overseeing the firm's offer of buying data and insights for the CIO community.
The group provides tech research, intelligence, media and advisory for more than 260 global companies, covering twelve major technology sectors: AI & data analytics, cloud, telecom, policy, consumer electronics, enterprise applications, security, semiconductors, workplace collaboration, sustainability, and CX. Its growth has been part-fuelled by a number of recent B2B acquisitions, including research, media and advisory business Dash Network in January last year; insight and data-backed marketing services company Visible Impact a year ago; San Francisco's Business Podcast Network in October; and last month publisher and intent data firm Techstrong Group.
Hinchliffe (pictured) joins from Constellation Research where he worked for seven years, most recently as a VP and Principal Analyst. Earlier he worked in Chief Strategy Officer roles at Dachis Group, Adjuvi and 7Summits, and as a consultant and editor. He has served as a columnist for Information Week for twelve years and a commentator for tech publication ZDNet for eighteen years.
In his new role he will work closely with The Futurum Group's Chief Product Officer Deepak Surana, to help re-imagine and develop the company's CIO dashboards and data offerings. Company CEO Daniel Newman comments: 'I'm very excited to have Dion at the forefront of our engagement with the broader CIO community... His unique research approaches incorporate his extensive experience and high visibility in the CIO world. This will grant the CIO community enhanced strategic solutions and services as Futurum continues its accelerated growth journey'.
