Grant Promises Cross-Media Monitoring for Caribbean

Media monitoring in the Caribbean is set for a major boost following an award to analytics firm DRT Communications from the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ).

Danielle TerrelongeAs reported on Caribbean business news web site www.loopnews.com the grant, from the bank's Innovation Grant Fund (IGF) is part of a programme to boost innovation and entrepreneurship. Kingston, Jamaica-based marcomms agency DRT introduced 'the first technology-driven media monitoring solution in the Caribbean' in 2015, backed by banks and angel investors, and says the new investment will enable it to provide businesses with more sophisticated tools to navigate the ever-evolving media landscape, including advanced algorithms and machine learning.

The new service, due for launch this summer, promises comprehensive coverage across print, online, broadcast and social media channels, allowing for seamless cross-channel analysis including sentiment and campaign effectiveness. DRT's Managing Director Danielle Terrelonge comments: 'We are immensely grateful to the Development Bank of Jamaica for recognising the potential of our enhanced media monitoring technology. This grant enables us to bring even more cutting-edge solutions to the region, empowering businesses to make data-driven decisions and effectively monitor their marketing efforts'.
